Clarkson has confirmed that apart from a one off special for Christmas, there will be no more Top Gear shows this year. There is usually 6/8 episodes in October and November but they have been shelved this year.
Is a big shame for me, the last series started off a bit slow but then returned to form. Oh well, we can just watch X-factor, The Voice and Strictly Come Dancing..f**king great
-
It has not been cancelled as such but they feel that nobody will watch it whilst x factor is on at the same time.
-
Haven't watched the last 3-4 series. Don't feel like I'm missing out on much to be honest.
-
A rest would probably do it good tbh.. its gone very stale now.. just three middle aged blokes dicking about in cars. maybe it needs to go back to its roots a little more? (if indeed it comes back)
-
Personally I think they should can it now. Last few series have been dull and predictable. quit whilst your ahead, and it will be remembered as being a great entertainment show. Carrying on will spoil it now for me, I certainly no longer enjoy it as much as I used to.
-
so no alternative to X-factor at the weekends may as well take up knitting or brass rubbing then :undecided: :undecided:

What's the source of this information?
I can't see anything anywhere.
Wayne is probably right that they've shelved the planned Oct/Nov series, probably partly to do with competing against X Tractor but may also be to do with the fact that a lot of the stuff is shot over August/September which would be tricky with the Olympics and all BBC resources being busy.

Blurry Mel, you'd think there wasn't anything else to do other than watch TV
Get yourself some board games if you're struggling to entertain yourselves for an evening

Karaoke TV suck balls, even with Top Gear being bloated and outdated I would still rather watch this than some wannabe vomiting up the same songs year in year out.......
People with real talent are very rarely on primetime TV
-
El well, it was getting very predictable any how...

Felt the same TBH all those trips they do you can do yourself.
Got so bored with it started to watch a bit of fifth gear :lipsrsealed:
Only one I watch and set for recording is Wheeler dealers can't beat Ed. China

Its a shame as I like topgear on a sunday night just for Clarkson as he's one of few people of tv not scared to speak his mind. Also some of the editing in the supercar tests are nothing short of amazing and I like that sort of thing. I'd rather watch my arms being hacked of with the blade out of a pencil sharpener than sit through one of these so called 'talent/entertainment' shows. They use emotion to reel you in, there no real talent there.
-
I wish they would bring back the old format.. Tony Mason in a flatcap prattling on about rally cars, Chris Goddfrey reviewing the latest and greatest to roll off the British Leyland production line, and Quentin Wilson providing consumer advice on picking up excellent 2nd hand Rover examples... bread n butter stuff!! :lipsrsealed: :lipsrsealed:

I never really liked the programme tbo, all to choreographed for my liking.

Baby Boom Back Next Year If No Top Gear in the Autumn...
It has been getting stale - but still better than anything else out there...

Baby Boom Back Next Year If No Top Gear in the Autumn...
The baby boom is already back, it's a "double-dip recession"! People staying at home has caused the boom.

Tweet Mr Clarkson and ask!

I do like top gear and clarkson is very funny but it has begun to feel a bit tired over the last few series and what was once quite good banter between the three of them is beginning to feel a bit forced so maybe a rest is a good idea.
Trouble is it's been forced off by cowell inc which is just televisual garbage.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO i love topgear. its probbly one of my fav tv shows. a have to admit though i do loose interest in the star in a car bit as it bors me but the rest is good. the specials are great though. so no more this year?
