Title: Lazy Springs
Post by: moby dick on 09 May 2012, 18:31
I have what I think is a lazy spring on the car - lt is definitely higher on the passenger side than the drivers side and the right rear tyre scrapes the wheel arch if there is a load in the back. After 170k miles that might be down to my being on the large side. I don't want to lower it but any suggestions for a new set of standard springs?

Ive just bought some heavy duty springs for the rear on mine. These are meant to be used for towing so give the same ride height as standard, despite being shorter due to being a stiffer spring rate. Search on Ebay or Euro car parts do them via phone (wether the forum discount applies over the phone, I never found out as I didnt bother to find out). I will point out that I havent fitted them yet but dont expect any troubles or a major increase in harshness/handling woes, in fact, it "should" reduce the inherent understeer a touch.
