Title: Gf wants new car for under 2.5k
Post by: jnufcuk on 05 May 2012, 21:47
Gf is after a new car as her green ford ka is rusting to pieces   :lipsrsealed:its a 1.3 so looking for something similar engine size max she would go to is 1.6.

She wants to spend under £2.5k. Was thinking maybe a lupo as she doesn't like 9n2 polo

What's the best engine? Are they any good to drive? Gunna have a look on here

Thanks guys and gals

Want to stick with the bag range otherwise means a corsa or fiesta

206cc loads available between 2 and 3k, reliable, cheap to service, cheap to insure, no rust, expect cars to have quite a few owners, its normal on convertibles, and power roofs give very little trouble..

^^ and 2 to 3k's worth of Mini, will be shocking!

The 1 litre engine seems a bit under powered from what I've seen (relative has one). 1.4 petrol would obviously have more poke or the 1.4 diesel for economy (64 mpg). If I had to choose I'd probably go for the 1.4 diesel. Check out prices and availability though as that can factor in. They can hold their value pretty well but are great solid, little cars. Take one for a test drive and see what you think.

I had a Ka once as a first car. They do indeed have bad rust problems. Sold mine before any serious problems 7 years ago.

She doesn't like the mk3s lol who can blame her

She does like the polo but seems to not like the 6n2

Can someone please confirm what polos there are and model name please.

6n2
9n2
9n3 are the three I have come across

Is the 9n3 the latest one?

Thanks
