Title: Recommend me a new MB and Processor

Right I have a fully maxed out Phenom 9650 (cant seem to clock it either....) which is getting a little tired, mainly due to the old DDR ram the motherboard supports.
I have a fairly good graphics card which will cover me for games for the next year or so, which is what i use my PC for.
I have a Dell 4400 Precision laptop for boring stuff like Solidworks and office so solely a gaming purchase.

I have few ideas but want some input and other opinions.

Looking to build a base for this sort of spec, maybe funding this with my Mk3 so ive got £400 tops :grin:
Case and other stuff is not needed.

i5 2500k and a z68 motherboard, or go next gen and get a 3000 series intel and z77 if you can afford it.

i have this, decent value for money in my opinion, should last a few years as its quick anyway befor o/c and with the MB taking 32GB of RAM i should be ok  :laugh:
