Post by: jnielow on 05 May 2012, 15:39

I was just wondering if there was any way I could improve the AM reception on my standard fitted radio?-if its the earth connection where is this located in the car?

Any help would be welcomed!

I dont think you can fellar. The aerial is already amplified and grounded. If your other bands are okay then the only way to get better a.m. is to buy an expensive tuner unit or longer aeria,l or both.

I am not sure.If you can get hold of a base, then unplug your current aerial and plug the new base into your radio directly instead of fixing it to the roof first(to check all is okay before pulling your headliner off). If the aerial base is amplified, then there will be a seperate wire with a positive feed going to it. (usually blue, but not neccassarily)
