hi, im having a rear quarter painted on my car and wondered if anyone could tell me the best way to remove the roof gutter moulding without damaging it? thanks
-
Very carefully there are tools like plastic V shaped prising hand tools you can buy there are little oblong clips along every 5 inches or so, all the way from front to back. I would slowly see if you take it off by starting from the back first if you break those clips I'm sure VAG will still sell them?
Selsdon not too far from me!
Beechymonza has pictures and you can see they are white centred mounted!

take heed, if you bend the getter moulding it's game over as it has metal iside it so will have a massive ripple in it when you bend it back into shape, it'll never sit right again if you bend it at all! Good luck and rather you than me!

Good advise as to be careful - but they do bend back and re-shape when taken off & re-fitted with care....
Done a few sets now and never had one that bad that it cant be sorted... but I did have one that was refitted by a bodyshop that was rippled... Guess they didn't know what they were doing...
