My passenger side window has its moments whwn it wants to go up, most of the time it goes half way n goes down automatically, today just about 10 mins ago it didn't want to go up so I just pulled it up slowly while pulling the button, anyone know what the problem is and how it can be fixed ?

not sure if this helps because it's not a golf, this happens in my mates corsa when it reaches the very top, i have to tap the button slowly, so it nudges a little every time..

if its bugging you that much take it to a garage.

might be worth taking the door card off and using silicone spray on the window runners before buying regulator repair kits.
had the same problem a year back and did the above - no problems since.

tell me about it, with the economy like this everything is steep but for exterior mods i can make an exception

It's definitely the window regulator on it's way out. It may last a while before it drops.

Just buy one off some body who is breaking a mk4 see it working before you buy it.I had to change 2x door modules on my own car hate to think what vw would want but I paid £50 job done from a breaker.
-
It won't be the lock module as that has nothing to do with the windows.
Window repair kit is £45. It's easier if you get one with the rails as you don't have to mess around with the the cables.

You will need something like this, its an easy fix but you have got to buy the correct side/door combination!
My window on my old Anniversary did exactly the same and my mates has done it a few times, its common mate.
