If so, I need a 3d modeling favour

No offence but I need somone who knows what they are doing rather than 'having a go'. Its to create a complete injection moulded usb stick with correct ribbing, components and correct friction fitting components

might not use it daily, but done two courses and used it and simelar programs over the past 5 years in engineering

Yes, but its hateful and I dont have a home copy so no favours coming from this direction

I cant CAD monkey it for you but give it a go and I will give you some input on mould/part design.
I built €3 million worth of mould tooling last year......

Its ok folks, I figured out a load of stuff today (only took me a billion years). I can hapily use pro-e, its just that we are doing a stupid project where you have to convert a surface model into a solid model using thicken and such like which simply doesnt work. Anyhow, here we are atm  :undecided:

Will delete this in a few days before I get in trouble :lipsrsealed:

what material are you working with?

No material atm really, just some random plastic (PP perhaps?)

PP is ok, think about acetyl or a filled material for durability

Its not going to be PPed, its just a cad project. I have however done an injection moulding project and did use PP but it got pretty bad shrinkage as it was only air cooled moulding (even across a 3mm section with a rib

That's a single cube, a double cube allows for a lot more versatility
Exposed sides can be loaded with inserts or other parts for over-moulding with multi materials or device assembly
Mine will involve a form of in mould labelling and 2k injection + 6 axis fanuc robots with camera drive :smug:
For a bit of trivia, these guys have developed a turning unit based on the turret mechanism of the Leopard tank. It will spin the centre section(s) with servo driven precision in .10 of a second

No probs I understand, but you need to get the material right to design fits and finish
PP does shrink a bit (1 to 2 % on section and grade) but is a very easy material to work with.
If you ever get stuck

Work with solidworks day in and out so similar ish....

I bloody hate mould tools though.

Btw PET OR PPS are pretty nice materials.
