Looks a really nice spec

I saw a 58 plate same model for £9.5k at an Arnold Clark in Scotland.
Low miles and leathers probably make it around the right price, maybe £500 off would be better.

They're pretty quick, turbo supercharged engines are always cool. Running costs are almost as high as a GTI though are they not? Personally i'd go for the 170 TDI, but i'm guessing you really don't like diesels so maybe the GTI.

1.4 TSI 170PS? Is that right as I didn't know they did a 170PS in a petrol unit.. I always thought the 170 was the GT Diesel  The only 1.4 they do now is 122PS..

Any reason for GT Sport?
You could get something like this for £11,000 http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3847855.htm (I'm assuming a £500 discount).
With VW's fixed priced servicing, runnings costs will be very similar, the GT sport will have cheaper insurance though and slightly better economy.
I ran the 140PS version and can't fault it (some people dont like the supercharger lag in standing traffic).

Didn't know superchargers had any sort of lag, I thort it was constant power, huh! lesson learnt...

Well, its not lag like a turbo.
But, at idle a magnetic clutch disables the supercharger (engine drag/economy) there is a slight delay when it enables.
