seen a few engine tables before, but never seen anyone use the pistons like that, nor cylinders to hold wine, normally its just engine block with a peice of glass plonked on top
-
Love it.
I wonder how many wifes/girlfriends would put up with that in the front room
-
I had a go at this about 20 years ago but i couldn't see any 'wife' allowing what is basically half an engine to be sat in the front room..

You are so crude.
-
That's exactly how my mate wants his dining room table, I had to design it for him, except he wants to use a 14.4L scania V8 and because of how the engine is built we will be able to pump cold water round the block to chill the wine, also going to etch 2 of the new double griffin heads in the middle of the glass and scallops on each corner.
Do you know what company made that or did the bloke make it himself?

Looks a lot better than that mess of a pipework to the radiator.
-
That's the best one I've seen yet, replace the wine with whiskey or other hard liquor and I'd call it perfect

PMSL - I was thinking exactly the same. Also what a mess the block will make of the cheap laminate flooring...
-
rover v8's arnt to heavy, you chould easy stick some sort of padding to the sump face to save the floor
-
The rover v8 block is actually lighter than most 4 cylinder engines and that scania v8 dining table is going to be a serious piece of ironmongery in your dining room.
-
seen that one before on ebay, aren't they around £500 to buy.
Looks great though

Apart from cleaning it there's about an hour or two's work to turn them into a table

My boss has a polished jag V12 block on its end full of wine at his house.

I know, just the block will cost him upwards of £3k. More money than sense!
-
just use a dead motor.
i keep meaning to make a V8 coffie tabel as ive got god knows how meany pourus rover v8's sat in the back of a barn, various wagon and plant engines as well, got a 16 cyl rolls royce block sat there now what sort of tabel chould you build with that

My 15 year old nephew is making one of these for his tech school project.Ive managed to source him a block but im in need of some large cc pistons to go with it and some long throw rods to go with it.
Was gunna tap Danny P up to see what he's got kicking about!
