Title: Drop in Turbo pressure 17705
Post by: Joewb84 on 01 May 2012, 16:08
Hey Guys,

I have a fault code reader and I am getting the code 17705 when I check it.  I have checked all of the hoses that I can see and can't see any obvious splits.  I understand it is common for the standard Bosch DV to fail. I eventually want to get a remap done and was going to change to the Forge DV and figured I would do this now and see if it gets rid of the fault.

Does anyone know of a good website or garage / shop in the Bromley (Kent) area that I can get the Forge from?  The ones I can find all seem to be £100+ for the part alone.

Cheers,
Joe

It could also be a software bug in the oem mapping. The early 2000-2001 AUM had this bug.

For the 007p you can try one of the forum sponsors  http://www.midlandvw.co.uk/forge_motorsport.html

They might do deals for the forum..

I have found a place locally to fit a Forge recirc valve on Saturday.  Hopefuly this will sort the fault.  Fingers crossed!

Got a Forge recirc valve fitted at Sanspeed in Bexleyheath for £80.  I've erased the fault code and will see if it comes back.  If it does I will get a smoke test carried out and probably get the software update as well.

VAG Error Code: 17705
EOBD II Error Code: P1297

Fault Location:
Pressure Drop between Turbo and Throttle Valve (check D.V.!)

Possible Cause:
Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)(K83) ON.
Power Loss.

Leaking Hoses and/or Pipes between Components.
Boost Pressure Control Valve (N249) faulty.
Diverter Valve faulty.
Throttle Body dirty.

Possible Solutions:
Check Hoses and Pipes between Components.
Check / Replace Boost Pressure Control Valve (N249).
Check / Replace Diverter Valve.
Check / Clean Throttle Body.
Perform Throttle Body Alignment.

Special Notes:
Did anyone install an extra (wrong) dump valve?
When found in the NAR (North American Region) 2.0T (BPY) check RVUTB: 01-09-03 or 2018919 for updated Crankcase Breather Valve.
If the breather valve is faulty, full engine vacuum is typically found when removing the oil cap at idle.
