Not been on here for ages, so i thought i'd tell you about my business venture i tried to get going last year.
I'm near stoke on trent, staffordshire and i've spent much of my time over the years on vw ownership on the forums vwortex etc providing help online to people who have problems with their vw.
So with my wealth of experience i thought i'd set-up a small mobile vw diagnostics business, this was after a friend of mine had a guy out who charged him £40 for a fault code reading, when his car wouldnt start.
My charges were £20 for a fault code check and this included altering any factory features, alarm beep, airbags, throttle adaptations etc
I also did Diesel particle filter regeneration for £45, something the dealers charge £170 for!
If a part needed replacing my labour was £30 per hour, but i'd give a discount on the dtc check if i was to replace a part, the local garages charge £48 per hour so i was far cheaper than them, you'd have to book it in, leave it there all day and pray they've had alook at it, another mobile guy charged £30 for a reading, but now he doesnt list prices just says call for a quote! and i've seen him knocking around so he must be doing well.
And i was mobile to a 20 mile radius from stoke on trent.
And i provided a rapid same day service! 7 days a week!
And so i got a laptop and a few electrical tools fuses, solder connectors, to add to my own collection of sockets etc.
I got a website going a very basic one, but thats all i needed simple and straight forward, after all i like to spend my time under the bonnet not messing around with some flashy graphics.
I got my rear window signed and i got business cards printed and i got some jackets printed with my business.
I then set out trying to promote my new business, i started the business in november 2010, and i tried handing out my business cards on the local halfords for a few hours in freezing temps, only for people to shake their head at me if i offered them a card! all v.a.g owners.
One guy even ran out of halfords and asked his partner if everything was ok after i was speaking to her.
One old couple said to me NO THANKS and walked into aldi
I had 600 odd hit's on my website from just my window decal.
And i had a few people ask me for my card when i was out and about but they never got back to me.
And i got 1 email but it was an immobiliser fault.
And after all of that and over 12 months later i did not make one penny! not one customer, not one phone call!
So i jacked the business in last november when the subscription to the website expired.
I'm still self employed but i now work for a property company, i'm also researcher into the new world order, infowars.com, david icke.com etc
-
I was feeling a bit sorry for you until I saw you were a 'researcher' for things to do with David Icke and 'the new world order'.
Then I realised people were probably a bit scared of you because you're part of the reptile elite, trying to act like one of us.
-
I sat through one of those Scientology seminars/questionnaires in Sunderland. It was the only thing I could do to get away from all the ugly people.
-
people buy people... did you try going to local meets etc? finding the right market can be key to all of this... Bob and Joan outside Aldi's won't have a scooby what you're on about.
its like me trying to sell detailing and valeting to someone who is happy with a £3 scratch and dash from the sponge monkeys at tesco.. it just won't happen
and maybe keep the NWO stuff to yourself... mixing business and pleasure on this occasion wouldn't be wise
-
Well i've only been into the nwo since my business failed.
David icke well he's interesting, most is proven apart from the reptile thing but i don't think he's crazy but on saying that i don't think the opposite.
I'm on the fence about somethings he says but it's nice to hear his opinions, because as we all know, you got called crazy for saying the world was round many years ago.
You be classed as a proper nut if you though atoms banging together could level major citys!
Alex jones gave a great speech in florida on the alex jones youtube channel
-
David icke is crazy as they come, as Guy said people buy people maybe your sales pitch lacked what people were looking for :undecided:
-
600 people click my website and no one called me, ohwell.
Well it was only watching david icke that i found alex jones, because david icke was on the alex jones show.
Alex jones only shows what he can prove, but he has david on his show because it's thought provoking.
The world elite are crazy, hitler was crazy, all the dictators are crazy, how can such human beings be so evil to their fellow humans.
If the reptiles are controling people that would explain alot, blame it on them.
But if there are no reptiles controling us, then it just goes to show just how evil the human mind actually can be.
Whatever opinions outthere there are, one thing is sure there is a one world dictatorship being formed, and there won't be much of a future unless it's reversed.
Did you know speeding is not breaking the law, and that theres no law for the bbc tv licence!
Any acts of parlement only have the force of the law, when you give your consent.
Amasing what you find out.
-
so you half heartedly tried to set up a business that offered very limited services, and because it failed the whole world is now out to get us and everythings a conspiracy?!
"So with my wealth of experience i thought i'd set-up a small mobile vw diagnostics business". so you can only work on vw's. what qualifications do you have?
"If a part needed replacing my labour was £30 per hour, but i'd give a discount on the dtc check if i was to replace a part, the local garages charge £48 per hour so i was far cheaper than them, you'd have to book it in, leave it there all day and pray they've had alook at it". garages charge more for several reasons. they're insured and their work is guaranteed.
"I then set out trying to promote my new business, i started the business in november 2010, and i tried handing out my business cards on the local halfords". That's it. that's all you did to try and promote your business?!!!
Quite frankly your attempt at starting a business was at best, very weak. i could pick holes in it all day long but what's the point? more importantly what's the point of your original post?
Stop trying to promote all this nwo conspiracy sh1t on here. if you continue, i will report you to the moderators for spamming. it's annoying. you're annoying.

You might want to visit a head doctor although i am convinced you are actually David Icke

Sounds very similar to how i started out, only I would call in to garages because the majority of them are pretty clueless when it comes to diagnostics regardless of how awesome they are with the spanners. Turning up to VW meets with your laptop is never a bad idea too. Ended up doing a lot of work for free, got my name around. Word of mouth travels fast :afro:
i've watched a few youtube videos about all that free-man nonsense. Problem is you count yourself out of the "corporation" and yeah you have to give less to the country, but you get f*ck all back from it too!

Which is the way it should be.
People, including me do complain about the country but hey, it's not all that bad. Yes some taxes are way too stupid and they do waste money but no goverment is going to fix anything.
Think my post was deleted, but as I said, do you have any other trades?
I've just started out, going about with my dad at the moment labouring and learning building/carpentry skills which I have a natural nack for, even though I prefer mechanics. Website made and canvassing like mad, got one phone call but that paid for all the advertising, then got us two more jobs! Plus all the window cleaning round.
I'm only doing that on certain days and jumping in with others. Getting the name round is key.
Saving for a decent diagnostic machine, then will be looking at a course and helping a certain garage I know out for free on a Saturday morning for extra experience.
I will be doing mobile servicing, small jobs and diagnostics, that's all someone I know does and says it's so much better then doing all the difficult jobs. Occasional clutch etc.
I really do think that small time garage days are going to be very numbered soon, doing a City & Guilds Level 3 course ATM and to keep up with the new stuff coming out is going to be HARD.
IMO, you need to put more effort in. I'll be attending local meets etc just with the van parked up and doing the odd scan etc free to get my name about. :)
Hopefully it will work. If it doesn't I'll look elsewhere.
I have a variety of trades I can do, but will be advertising them all seperate and have different people I can count on. It takes so much effort. My girlfriend keeps telling me I talk about business too much, probably true but I'm hoping that effort in now will set me up for the future.
I'm generally in from work and on the business til about 11:30 pm.
As I've typed this I've just got a job booked in. :)
It works but effort in means results. Get your name round is key.

Anything that long posted by Bellend is unlikely to be worth reading.
I started and lost interest. As I don't have time to search for a lost will to live I quickly stopped.
