I'm looking to re-bore my 8v or dump a 16v into my mk2.
1. Is it a pain in the ...... to put a 16v into a early k-jet 8v e.g matching up fuel lines etc
2. Has anyone got a 2.0l 8v here? (cannot get the search engine to work) whats the power, fuel econ like??
3. Can the 8v be bored to 2.0l??
Thanks for looking

1. not sure
2. if they have its probably a mk3, although jimbo might have one in his mk2
3. you can bore them out to 83.5mm i believe and then you have to use a longer throw crank to get the 2ltrs 95.5mm i think. when i bored mine i was advised to go to 1900, 1940 maximum and to not bother with a longer crank, so now its a 1900. still running it in but so far feels great!

What power is you 1900 putting out bud?? I prob will go for the rebore to 1900, do you notice the improvement in power alot??
Ps where did you get your front grille from I WANT I WANT, as it's the best I'v seen by far

not sure on power yet but been quoted around the 150 mark which would be nice, i'm going to let it free up a bit then get it rolling road tuned to see what its putting out....
.... as for the grill, i made it. at stonor at the weekend i had soooo many people asking where i got it i'm thinking of making more and selling them on!

Around 150 eh, that is v-nice increase from a 112, what cam are you running in it, a 285 road/rally cam??
And about making another grille & selling them, PLEASE DO.. or tell me how you made it  as I have an idea how it's done.
How much did the work cost for the rebore & replacements parts e.g. oil pump
-
yeah i hope its somewhere around that and yeah its a piper 285 cam, i had the head done and the manifolds ported to match a corrado milltek downpipe.
i could make some more, we'll see...... i quite like the fact that no-one else has got one but they are simple enough to make but quite tricky to get looking good.
i was lucky with regards to cost, i knew a guy who bored it for free, but a re-bore should cost about £100 with the vat. the pistons would be about £300, maybe more. have a look at TSR's website as they list a kit which works out about £500+ for the bits to do it. i didn't change my oil pump, not sure if i should've? no-one mentioned it during the whole process but i renewed all the bearings seals etc. didn't seem worth doing half a job.

Cool, thanks for all the info joe, whats the full web address for TSR so I can start to price up the rebore?
