Get the papers from the old house (ask the landlord if you have too), go into the post office and tax it.

if you have just bought the car, and knew you were moving, did you not think of putting your new address

and yes, you need all your other documents.

and you cant do it online if the new v5 has been issued using the green slip

so you are pretty much fcuked

have you got a redirect set up for your post ?

If you ring the DVLA they can tell you if the V5 has been sent, it can take up to 6 weeks

Shut the f*ck up with the whining and go to your local office and sort it out:

Profile says Leeds.

Address says Leeds.

Can't be *that* not local.

You stay on the phone for hours instead of getting on the bus to talk to someone and getting things sorted out.

You can use the green slip.

If you have a mate with trader's insurance you can use that. I just taxed my new golf using the trader's insurance as it covers any driver. Most insurance companies will email you the certificate (or let you download online) now too. Print off at home and this is still a legal copy.

MOT certificate.

Cash.

Job Done. (http://www.bandit127.com/oof_stuff/images/thumbs-up.gif)

P.S. I am insured but the trader offered to help and that saved me from driving home for my certificate with no tax...

Oh yes, of course you're insured, that's why you had to use your mate's traders insurance to tax your car.
