The car is saying I need a service very soon. I'm guessing it is a major service along with cam belt.
Just wondering home much I should be paying at the stealers for this just so I can shop around.

dsg or manual?

Manual, long life I think if that makes a difference also.

Cambelt - about I'd expect anything between £200-300 - might as well get the waterpump done at the same time
40k service, dunno - about £200 i reckon.

Major service will cost £259. Cambelt and water pump costs £419. Thats according to the VW website.

My DSG 40000 mile service was £1000 which I didn't pay as I chopped the car in. (For £3,000 less that it was worth)
