Title: Tyre sizes
Post by: Gavo1989 on 29 April 2012, 14:29
rite basically i have a set of porsche wheels with 265/35/18 on the back 9.5j et47 .basically they are running on the back and doing my head in. what size tyres could i have on there without being dangerous? dunno if i like the look of them being too stretched. i hear its a specialist job to have a tyre stretched soo much. would 225 be a big stretch? i have no idea about this but i want the most narrow tyre i can but being sensible. im also using 20 mm adapters. but dont really want to have to get them skimmed down.,
any help is grately appriciated.

265 to a 225 would be a xtreme stretch 40mm prob wouldn't get them sealed maybe you would get away wit 245/35 or 245/40
may be at a real push 235 but would take some sealing i would expect i have sealed a 30 to 40mm gap before but it took some sealing

I think you may be able to get a 235 fitted but not going to be easy.

That seals absolutely fine, running them at 37psi at the moment.
I also run 205/45's on a 9j rim up front.

main prob is your running 265/35 thats too high a profile really, make it a 235/35
