vw have brought our a anti tamper plug which is 16mm slind bit but with a bit in the middle to stop
you from using any splind bit! :angry:
result is you cant check your own gearbox oil......and vw wont sell you the tool!
well i was p***** off by this until a lad told me that you can buy a tool. draper make them
you can buy them from draper £5.52 plus £4.50 for postage so for £10.2p you can have a gearbox plug removal tool....
vw fitted daft plugs to mk 4 golfs.....

Maybe you should hire it out to us :) £1 a time plus the postage, as it's probablly a once off job for most of us!

when the lad told me he said you can get them from a place near me...
for about a £5 which it says on the draper site....
its worthing having one if your box has theses plugs on them.... as if you run into problems you can check if you have oil in their!
also the another reason is that they dont sell the allen key plugs anymore just theses new ones!
