Title: New springs & shocks fitted
Post by: Paul81 on 25 April 2012, 22:50
Alright guys.

Bought a set of bilstein b4 shocks & koni -40mm springs a few weeks ago from another member of the forum.
Just had them fitted today but I'm getting a strange knocking noise coming from the bottom of the car, particularly when going over 30 mph. The steering wheel also seems to be knocking, similar to a vibrating sensation.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening?

Cheers.

Possible top mount bearing for the 'steering wheel knocking'

Not good at all mate, luckily i was only doing about 10 - 15 mph.

The problem was my break discs have 2 screws missing and they slide about too easily, will have to get that sorted tomorrow if it's not raining.

Anyone else had this problem?

Once the wheels bolted on the disk shouldn't move anyway. The screws are only to keep it located while you put the wheel on.

I'd be on the phone to the garage who fitted them!
