Hi guys,
I have a DX engine in my T25 campervan, great lil workhorse. My only gripe is the bloody noisy inline pump.
Now i do not know much about the stovk mk1 gti dx engine setup, but mine has no lift pump, just an inline that i have in a bracket (no rubber shroud) then accumulator and into metering head.
It is very noisy and vibrates through the van. Is this due to:
Needing a lift pump in the tank?
Needing the thick rubber shroud?
angled wrong so having air inside?
Pump on way out?
When i drive about it seems to get worse on hills etc so wondering if its never filling with fuel so to speak and sloshing about. Anyone know what i should try given that a lift pump woukd be hard to fit to a stock t25 tank? What is the original setup for a mk1 dx?
Cheers

yea the standard under car fuel pump on a gti will get noisy and eventually die if the in tank lift pump fails, iirc its there to raise the pressure of the fuel for the 5-6 bar needed by kjet, not to suck the fuel outta the tank thats for the lift pump,
really mate have a search thers some good links on here to sites that breakdown and explain kjet far better than i can, but from reading threads on here and clubgti and mk1 oc its helped me solve issues with my kjet, a test guage and line is essential to fault find properly on kjet

just to add that maybe something like a facet? pump may work :undecided: dannyp is the man to ask, from what ive read of his posts there aint that much he dont know about engines, fuelling, suspension, conversions, welding, cars, tractors, compressors, paint, bodywork, etc...... but his spelling is a bit dodgy
he will no doubt give you better advice and explain better what you may need
