Title: Golf GTi 16v Badge
Post by: golfgtimk28vman on 23 April 2012, 21:46
Hi

I have just bought a Golf mk2 GTi 16v badge for the front grill, just wondered if anybody could tell me the exact measurements of where it should be placed on the grill? (a case of OCD i know!)

Just be wary of it being nicked.. They're worth £500 on ebay you know... Where are you based/ where do you park your car at night?....

I'd imagine that if the Golf was built by British Layland, the guy on the production line would use the "Ther'll do" method.

I'm sure VW had some sort of jig.

Thom's is spot on. Most people put them one slat too high. There is a prong on the back of the badge with a "V" in it. This slots onto a vertical bar in the grille, thus ensuring the correct left/right position.
