Right ive just managed to sell my old M3 wheels for a pretty penny so im in the process of buying a set of rota drift grids but want more of a con-curve on the back than front.
i haven't got a clue how to work out E.T but do you think Front 5x100 18 x 8.5 ET42 Back 5x100 18 x 9.5 ET32 will fit?

I'd probably guess that any set of wheels will cost you more than 1p, no matter how pretty it is
Those fitments would fit a golf easy. Do you mean you want the the wheels to be more CON-CAVE on the rear? ET42 on the rear would mean the wheels would be sat in quite a way. ET32 up front would be maybe ~10mm off flush with the arches...
