Looks promising, not a follow on to forza 4 but looks good, seen somewhere else that forza 5 will be out next year

Also says porsche add on for forza 4 in may

I'd be more excited about Horizon if I actually knew what it was.
If it was Turn 10's version of Test Drive Unlimited then I'd be very excited indeed.

Lots of good stuff about the game in this vid, watch out for more details at E3
-
Hmm, bit worried about the people from dirt and grid being involved here, their games are rubbish in terms of realism/dynamics compared to Forza and Grand Turismo!
-
yh but there saying that is a spin oof game from forza, not a follow on from forza 4, forza 5 will still be coming out next year

Have no idea what the game is about, I wish they would release some info

As much as they say that Forza 5 will be coming out I can't help but agree that bringing in the development team from Dirt and Grit bodes ill for Forza. With Forza 4 Turn 10 really made quite a feature of the increased cinematic atmosphere with the flames popping from the exhausts (and even the rewind function). Forza has definitely been influenced by Grit and Dirt and I - as much as it pains me to say it - suspect that even more of such games will impress upon Forza's gameplay.
As for Horizon, it really would be nice if Turn 10 were going to release their own "TDU" but I don't think it's very likely. TDU took a long time to develop due to the sheer size of the environments. As detailed as Forza is none of the tracks are even remotely close in terms of scale to the environments of TDU (1 or 2).
Ah well, we shall wait and see.

Just found this

pre-order time

The fact it's most likely going to have a free roam mode is awesome. Just like NFSU2
-
From the same page but of more significance:
Coming this fall for Xbox 360, Forza Horizon combines the automotive thrills that Forza fans expect with a gorgeous open-road world that begs to be explored.
-
There's talk of the open world being available online too, so you can drive like a granny or rag it round the streets along with mates.
I also heard ideas flying about for a future game that uses google street view to create the map, so you choose any location in the world and drive around in it. I'd be driving up and down the new forest with some crazy fast car!
-
Even a tb? I'd say petabytes!
-
That would be cool tho! I reckon if they did do that, most people would ignore all the awesome roads in the world and just rag round there local roads
-
Could you imagine a drive from here in the UK to the ring? How epic would that be? Saving the progress along the way as you would in real life, for pee breaks, fuel stops, etc.

Yh would be awesome, I'm up for it! Plus we wouldn't get DH moaning about insurance
-
Yh, i do think we're dreaming a bit now tho, but if they did pull it off, EPIC!!!

Lifted from the forza website
Any week that includes Forza Horizon news is a good week indeed! And, by that measure, this week has been a doozy. On Thursday, we unveiled not just the first screenshot of the upcoming open-world racing game, but also the box art. The reaction from all over the Forza World and beyond has been amazing and speculation is currently running wild about what the game will be, the cars it will include, and so much more. It’s thrilling to see and I can’t wait to share more with the Forza Faithful about what Horizon has in store for you all.
On the day we released the Horizon screenshot on our official Facebook page, I put an open-ended question to readers: What are you most looking forward to doing in Forza Horizon? Now, of course, we haven’t said a lot about the game so far, so everyone’s responses were coming from a place of pure uninformed enthusiasm. Some of my favorite responses from the hundreds of comments:
“A Forzatographer dream come true!”
“Did someone say roadtrip!! :)”
“Sweet open road driftin hells yeah”
“The Famous FORZA PHYSICS in free roam”
“Cruising in classic cars with my friends it will be the best!”
And the comments go on and on. And it’s not just us sounding the Forza Horizon bell either. Major gaming sites like Eurogamer, Game Informer, and others featured the new shot and the box art—and the buzz will only be building in the coming weeks. //Of course, we’ll be releasing more information on the game soon—we might not answer all your questions but, at the very least, you’ll soon have a very good understanding of just what Forza Horizon is all about. We’re so excited to share with you all the cool stuff in the game—trust me, your patience will be rewarded.
Doesn't really tell us anything tho
-
It tells us they've certainly taken note that open world is very much asked for both online and single player, that you're going to be able to travel around in a massive map and that you'll be able to visit some stunning locations to take awesome pics.
-
Something i'd love to see in Forza which is actually plausible:
Co-op career
Race Teams (pick + train ai/online/split screen team mates)
Logistics (advertisement, money management, marketing, sponsors etc)
A harder career (my view of forza, race win, click a, race win, click a, get given a car, race win etc)
ok so logistics might not be everyone's cup of tea. but the rest I can only see as something that everyone would love.
Know what you mean with the career, there's now real substance to it, I can't really to bothered with the career and il probably never finish it as theres no real achievement to it other then cash

As long as they don't dull the physics down to NFS or TDU level where handling is poor and unrealistic. Like nos + 200mph means 90 degree bend easy, good ol NFS.
Hated the police strike system in TDU as you could not shake them off once you got to a certain level and it got annoying.
Open road driving would be good like TDU, shame no info is released. Think the xbox is also close to its hardware limit as I wasnt expecting Forza 5 till the next console, but forza career mode kind of sucked and getting rid of endurance races was such a lame thing to do, thats what I liked most about it was realistic physics and endurance races, however they need to improve on tire wear and fuel consumption hugely in Forza 5 as 9laps of the ring with no refill on a lambo elemento or veyron was just like yeah right!
If it is open road I would love fuel to be taken into account so you can pop petrol stations and tire places and maybe get punctures :undecided: Ah well, I imagine they will add neons as well to get the EA fanboys over

Yh loved the endurance racing in f3.
Now that would be cool if you had to stop for fuel!

looks like u'll be able to stop for fuel
A German fansite, Forza Life, has revealed some details of the upcoming Forza Horizon - details which were quickly pulled, but not before being noticed by the rest of the internet. The title is described as an open-world racer set in Colorado, with dynamic day and night cycles, gas stations, paint shops, car dealerships and even a chance to race in a plane. Physics will be very similar to Forza 4, but as there are apparently 65 different types of terrain, they will be optimised for off-road driving. Check out the screenshot gallery below:

Definitely getting bought. TDU2 was a bit of a let down unfortunately but it looks like Forza Horizon could redress this. I'd have pre-ordered it already were it not for the various pre-order bonuses for different outlets having not been released yet.

Any ideas if this is going to be multi platform?only downside to havin ps3 is no Forza!

I think it's a spin off to the original forza series, unlike the previous versions which are more dedicated to racing simulation, this 1 is more like a street racing game similar to need for speed etc
-
Forza is pretty much at the far end of Arcade racing, almost into simulation territory. It's about as far as you would want to go on a console, which keeps it entertaining.
Things that bug me about it is that all standard cars sound like they have an induction kit, take the 1.6 New Fiesta, they do NOT have that deep induction roar. Other things like take a Leon Cupra R with decent tyres and on Forza its tyres are screeching like feck at 30mph... like WTF? Dumb down the Arcade SFX guys, & the Leon does not understeer as bad as that. On the flip side GT5 sound effects are all too weak & that bloody gearbox noise!!
New game does look good though and it is great to use roads rather than tracks
Corrado in the 2nd video at 2:50 :-D
-
The demos is out on the 9th to download!!
That corrado does look cool, the mk1 and mk2 golfs have also been confirmed to be in the game, hope they put all the golfs in it like forza 4

I think there's more downsides on having a ps3 LOL.
I'm not hatin on ps3 users in anyway btw
