Title: Gti grinding and loss of power steering fluid
Post by: yickergti on 23 April 2012, 13:09
Hi all

My brother rang me the saturday saying he had a problem. He had gone to turn into a parking space and suddenly developed a grinding noise.
He noticed there power steering fluid was virtually empty so topped it up and it just drained straight out of the bottom. The rubber gaiter on the rack had lost a jubilee clip so he put a new 1 on but it still leaked when on full lock.
Does it sound like a full steering rack job or can the gaiters be bought separately?

Cheers,Tony

Do any of the racks of other model golfs fit apart from the 1.8t`s?
