Title: speedo randomly stops working!

Hi guys, my gti keeps having a speed fail, 95% of the time its fine, but occasionally it just doesn't work at all! If I pull over and turn the car off then start it again and drive off its fine again! Any ideas??

Sounds like it is dropping into limp mode, have you had it scanned for faults?

Speedo would work if in limpmode though surely?

However ide still scan it see if it comes up with anything

Have a read through this (http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/439550.aspx) it might be a similar thing to what's happening with yours
