I've always thought it was pointless and chavy when I see stickers on cars especially when the car has none of them brand parts fitted. I'm also a bit against stickers on the exterior unless someone was actually sponsored by that company. But I had some stickers in the box with parts I bought and while cleaning the engine bay I thought I stick them in the bay. What does everyone make of them?

Come on the real reason for this thread is to show off your lovely engine bay...
-
shiny
not a massive fan either, a few stickers placed in the right way are ok, and if its a funny sticker then i dont mind it.
-
stickers aint for me but the engine bay in general is flipping lovely
-
mate that engine bay is lush but them stickers are gay.
-
Don't see the point tbh, as all they do is let down what is a very impressive engine bay! :lipsrsealed:

Unfortunately the engine mounts will have to wait, just rebuilt the engine after all, will have something to match in the near future!

Lol we all love a bit of whoring, but it was a genuine question, my engine bay has been this way for more or less a year now so I find it looks pretty normal.
one on the brace would look better
So the general consensus is it looks out of place and would be better off without stickers
-
I think it makes an engine bay which has clearly had a lot of work n money put into it, look cheap :undecided:
Ultimately it's not about what other people think, especially if you like them!
-
in a nut shell mate take them off they distract the eyes from the lovely bay you got there
-
imo they look fine there not in ya face stickers
-
not a fan but engine bay is spot on mate
-
50 / 50 on the stickers tbh, you would be wise to refit your cambelt cover however.
-
I'm still no closer to deciding whether to just leave it or take them off - more effort.
Unfortunately my cam belt cover suffered a mishap when someone decided to bury their foot through the cover while I had it off just momentarily

You got a build thread for this car anywhere? Looks like a lot of money, blood, sweat and tears have gone in to it! Would be a great read
-
I'm against them, in particular stickerbombing panels or fuel caps, don't do it for me. But I think they can look good under engine bay in particular under the bonnet itself on the engine bay side of it.
-
you got a superb looking car and your asking us mear mortals for help! Pppppftt

I've not got a build thread, when I put the stickers on I wasn't too sure and part of it is because it's the first time I have ever put any sticker/decal/badge on a car and every time since I've looked at my engine I can't help but notice the sticker alot more. In my mind it's sort of at home now.
The car is a 5 door mk4 1.6 and converted to 1.8t with forged conrods, completely rebuilt, supertech valve stem seals, valve face cleaned, valve grinding, port matched, casting marks removed with the usual bits replaced during rebuild like oil pump and pickup, all bearings and seals, piston rings, tappets and so on. I've stripped it down to 1120kg while I been bored saving for a turbo upgrade.
