Title: Mk 4 tdi budget tuneing £450 - 500 max budget

Hi all I wasn wodnering whats sort of bolt on tuneib ng goodies are availble for the mk 4 tdi 115bhp model shes a 2001 with k98 k on her. Its the family wagon so the misses has said i cant change thelooks re lwering wheels etc. So was looking at going down the lines of tuning her for torque i'm doind it on a budget of £450 if any one can recomend anything be apricated. Also seeing as i cant lower it or stiffen up the ride (too much ) would it be worth upgrading my arbs and getting a lower n upper strutr brace ? Oh and can you get a dump vale for the tdi  Thanks for the advice

dont get a dump valve for the tdi,

remap
brakes
lowering

Rear arb ~ 100 (Real good at stiffening up the rear end)
Remap ~ 200-300 / Tuning box ~150 (Both of these will give you upto 50more torques and 30-50 more ponies)
Don't get a lower and upper strut brace if your mrs will be driving it around

That's about it if you cannot lower is... :undecided:

shame you cant do alloys

Well said.

Remap will get you gains of about 20-30 bhp and 30-35 torque on your engine. Depending on where you go that could cost you between £150-£350 so that could be alot of your budget and definitely stiffen the suspension a little it will make a world of difference which you can do without the missus noticing to look at. Strut brace wont make a difference with standard suspension really

if it wernt the family car be alot more being spent i can do alloys wel 15 - 16s thanks chaps will have a word with some one about the remap side of things  :smiley: thinking of a revo chip as well depending on price on a diffrent note picking up another mk 4 tdi today in white for £100 in really good shape she turns and coughs spluters and a cloud f smoke comes out hopeings its just e g r valve or could it be anything else ?

Please don't tell me the speed limit on the island is 40mph everywhere?!!?!?

ocasionaly its 30mph  :smiley: i just want more torque as i like the car and diesel power is the way foirward

Jersey speed limit is 40mph max, over here it's 70mph on our only half mile stretch of dual carriageway  :sad:
