Title: new car, built in sat nav says im in the sea

So I've just bought a golf gti mk4 1.8t, very please with it but the sat nav is causing me trouble, its a built in factory fitted unit and it keeps saying im in the north sea, anyone had any issues like this before?

Check connection on back for gps receiver? and/or replace gps receiver?
