Title: what bulbs on mk3 gti head lights?

hello all

could some one tell what bulbs are used on mk3 gti headlights for main beam and high beam. The place where the actual bulbs sit says H1 on both main and full beam bulbs and are they both same as I bought some GTI head lights to fit my 1.4  :grin: and they came without bulbs. appriciate the help, many thanks.

Yes H1 for main and dipped. W501 for sidelights- just swapped mine over for Philips X-Treme vision, a much better light output

i have read on other threads for full beam it is h3 size even though theres a stamp h1 on headlight itself?? how correct is that? dont want to buy the wrong ones so just want to make sure.

would this be same for mk4 style lights? just wanna get a brighter light.

go to powerbulbs who have given GGTI a club discount, all you need do is put in the vehicle details and it will give you the options for your car. as mentioned for better light output the phillips xtreme are very good.

I also run Philips Xtreame bulbs. The actual beam pattern on them is far superior to the standard bulbs that were in there initially.
