I have a 1.8t aum with a R-teck remap, which does not feel as quick as it used too. I have changed pretty much all the usual stuff, like air filter to a pipercross panel, new coil packs, new maf, new N75, changed the diverter valve to a forge 007, replaced breather hoses and others with silicone ones, have a new silicone tip, new 02 censors. Recently had a service which also included a new fuel filter, and replacement thermostat, and a repair to the air pump changing the rivets to bolts.
All this, and a few other things done to it (that would not effect power like new bushes and discs and pads) over the past year which have cleared the infamous 17705 code, (which I have been free of for some time now ) but there is certainly a lack of power still  It is a bit better than stock, but not what it used to feel like when the remap was running good. I have no codes coming up on my code reader, so I am at a loss to think what the lack of power could be. Sometimes it feels like some of the power comes back every other day, not full power, but an improvement nonetheless, but that magical remap spark seems to of gone!
I have heard that a new stainless steal exhaust like a miltek may help, but as there are no leaks in the exhaust, is it necessary to change to get the power back?
Does anyone have any suggestions as to things that could be causing the lack of remap power? Could the injectors need changing? Any suggestions I would be grateful of, thanks.

any boost leaks any where
-
I can't find any, or hear any at all. I did have a look at the pipe that goes on to the pancake pipe about 3 months ago, and that was fine, no splits, and I haven't had the 17705 code for a while now

ones under inlet manifold are a commen 1 have u checked them

I have replaced all of them, even the "L" shaped one that comes out of the sump

Get a boost gauge fitted and check the psi your hitting  that will let you see if there is a
Leak or its just your head :lipsrsealed:

sounds like a leak somewhere i could definately feel a diiference from before and after i fixed a leaking pipe its like night and day

Thanks, sounds like a good idea, so I will go and see what I can find on ebay. I am certain it is less power than it used to be, as the torque is no where like it used to be. there is definitely a lack of power

After I had the service a little while ago, my mechanic found a split in the tip, and he temporarily fixed it until I bought a new silicone tip. The difference was easily noticed after he had temporarily fixed it, but after he had put the new one on the power has seemed to come and go a bit.

strange that as he fitted it correctly its just if there was power before he changed it and then dropped summat got to be checked in and around that area imo just a thought mate

I have had my hand down there near the turbo and can't feel anything, but it is hard to tell.
-
jack car up use some axle stands to be safe and get underneath and see if theres anything wrong it is hard to tell from the top but has he fitted it to the turbo correctly etc
-
thanks, will do when I can get some axle stands and see what is going on. I presume you can see alot better from underneath then
-
you can see the turbo better as its at the bottom mate

Thanks again, I have to see my mechanic friend again next week, so I may ask him if I can have a look underneath my car on his ramp

I've got a cheap boost gauge for sale if your after one
-
No ones mentioned actuator yet
do you run a standard or aftermarket?
If its standard, it could well possibly be this as the spring weakens over time, allowing the waste gate to open prematurely etc

ah good shout chris

I still have the standard one on it, and my car is a 2001 model. Don't problems with it show up on the code reader then? Do you know if there is any way of checking to see if the actuator is at fault ?

What Weymouth for the Olympics by any chance!
