Title: im in a little bit of regret !
Post by: pegg on 19 April 2012, 20:15
So, a couple of weeks i joined this site and the hunt was on for a mk 3 gti........ However missus kept nagging and nagging about me using her car.......... So spotted a mk 4 1.6 with 6 months mot - alloys etc, got him down to a grand!
Bought it! Taxed it and know just getting some quotes for cambelt to be changed.

But, i keep thinking i should have waited for the mk 3 gti ! like my mk4 but it aint what a really wanted!

Anyhow just thought i would share this bollocks with you guys

bloody women !

think you need to get yourself a hat

cos even I would rock a tugboat gti than a barge 1.6

Oh my dear boy, Is she in actual fact a mrs? I kinda have the same problem but that my mrs is dead against me modding mine, ie NO REMAP! but that is a different story and one I'm working on...

I suggest if you got the seller down to a K then do the minimum of mileage and sell it on and get the MK3 you really want...

Good Luck!

Oh dear........!

I must have a decent missus then. When I sold my 205 GTI she told me not to because I'd regret it! Now I've got the Golf when I say "I'm doing this, that, the other". She simply replies "OK" and puts 'Enders on!

6-years married btw

My first anniversary on Tuesday, she still nags when I spend money on the car but she does realise I need time for my hobby from time to time. At Mr GTD, just get the Remap without her knowing. Its not like she'll be able to see you've gone and done it!

My Mrs was so bad I had to choose between her or the GTI's.

I'm now divorced with 2 Golf GTI's, 2 Seat Cordoba SX 16Vs and a Cordy VR6. That's single life for you :)

i solved this problem by buying her a lupo an taking her to shows.....

i now have a different problem....

theres so much work to do to her car i hardly get to work on mine....
altho i do get to drive her car, which is great fun goes like a go cart

lupo with a polo gti engine conversion, polo gti brakes, mk4 recaro's waiting to be fited, 3 sets of wheels to be refurbed, lots of iterior trim to be colour coded, the list seems endless lmao..

Put a 1.8t lump in and she'll never know. Just say the car is getting some work done

alas its her first car, i would have loved to put the 1.8t in there but insurance dictates otherwise,
strangley the 125bhp engine didnt really make much of a difference

its still great fun all the same, have toyed with putting the agu 20v lump i have sitting there in the mk3 tho she will still no, downside of doing every bit of work to the cars myself, she knows whats going on lol,

Always easier to get rid of your wife then your car mate, she has her own legs, you have to drive the car away!

One lass said my car was ugly and looks like a boat (never guess which golf ive got -.-) so i havent spoken to her since! ;)
