Looking at getting an fmic before my remap in couple of months
A garage where I got my exhaust said to get one off the bay and they can do all the pipe work for £200ish. They have tested the eBay ones and have a car running a gt38turbo iirc and running 300+bhp. Said its just the pipe work that is gash lol.
So is this one ok, just it looks skinny :undecided:

Personally if u can save up for THS or forge you get all the pipe work and its a great fit . Might end up been more than 200 from garage if they have bother with the pipe work and the air flow sensor after pancake pipe

wouldnt bother mate my mrs bought me the whole kit for crimbo 2 years ago i put it on took it strait back off stuck it in the shed and left it there then sold it several months later at a loss of a tenner
-
How come? Just no good or was it the piping lol?
What u got now?
-
just stuck my smic dont know if it was anygood or not didnt even run the car with it on and yes was the piping mate i didnt fancy chopping most of my bumper away for 2 pipes as others have said mate leave alone and save for summat better you only get what yo pay for

it aint hard at all cutting you bumper will be the hardest bit as if you mess it up theres no way of hiding it

I could fit it, just they said they can make the piping and get it as good as forge piping then they can fit it aswell. All for £250ish. They said eBay intercoolers are fine just the piping is gash that's why people slag them off and end up not fitting them lol
Have emailed them to confirm price and everything.
@wazzer, that's the look I want, hidden ftw
-
they wont make it like forge's pipes as it not a twin pass imo stay clear mate of course its upto you as its your car  but if they are really good they could get the bends sorted to sit behind the bumper properly hmmm

  unless your going stage 2 or bigger turbo i wouldnt bother with fmic what is it your getting btw wazzer managed 225 on his smic which is awesome tbf
-
I did suffer from heatsoak though but yeah it shows it's possible
-
I managed 233 bhp on standard smic and standard cat back but low torque
-
Oooo I'm liking the sound of this
Mods so far:
007p obviously
Sports cat
Customer cat back
3"dp
Silicone hoses
Silicone tip
Ko3s turbo
Then clutch update
I'm looking at getting around 220-230ish as a standard map on k03s is 210. and 230ish will be more than enough for another year
-
should be good for 230 with those mods and standard SMIC although as said heatsoak is noticeable when driving hard.
had 233bhp and 240ft/lb with the SMIC, torque increased to a peak of 265ft/lb with the FMIC on the same map.
if you are planning on changing the intercooler then do it before having a remap. I fitted the FMIC after mapping and while there is more torque the extra pipe work has caused lag which I'm positive can be reduced by mapping to suit.
THS/Forge are the best option and aside from trimming the standard bumper are a very good fit

i dnt understand why people go expensive on certain things you can get away with being cheap but if you wanna up rate your ic look a turbo revs smic instead of front as no point in going front mount until you go big turbo and hidden you dont really get the look of it aswell so not worth it

the cheap fmic kits are ok if you are into the pipes hanging out the front of your bumper if your really good you can get them tucked in quite nice but its a bit of a pita
