Lepsons are spot on. Or, you could use it as an opportunity to change the look of them.

Found the old thread :-

There's a few places that will do a good repair of diamond cut Monzas - A1 Wheels in Wolverhampton being one  - there's plenty of happy Mk 5 Gti owners had theirs refurbished there.  They can do this too :

Paint the insides black on older Mk 5 Monzas and then cut back and refurb the diamond cut face

Other places that used to refurb them are (taken from another thread ) :-

Funny that - I've seen a lot more 12 plate GTIs than I ever saw in the last 18 months.
Perhaps they've increased the ration into the market?

Possibly! I see one kicking about Anniesland X some nights, and saw a red one at the old Jet garage in Hamilton, next to the palace, with a red grille badge who waved. Other than that, very rarely see them lol

OUCH!!

It's probably gonna cost the good part of £300 to get the 3 sorted...I say £300 to cover yourself as I wud expect around £70-£80+ on each wheel....

I'd get he dealer to look at the white worm wheel and get them to replace it under warranty.  Bite the bullet and get a proper job done on the others.

I had the same problem with my Monza wheels on the last GTI....I think this must be a VW problem...

I had the same problem with my Monza wheels on the last GTI....I think this must be a VW problem...

It's been a VW problem since about 1990 when they fitted the Ronals to the Mk2 16v with the polished face - they corroded.
Mk3 Anniversary BBS - the lips corroded.
Mk4s with BBS RXIIs and RCs - they corroded.
Mk5 GTI 18" Monzas - they corroded.
You'd think they's would learn by now...almost every wheel they offer (in a poor selection) have a polished face that will corrode.
