Title: 2.0 16 valve Emissions results
Post by: RAPTOR on 03 June 2005, 14:08
Hi guys/gals

Thought I'd take my valver for an emissions test yesterday. Its an on an L plate with the  ABF engine.
It passed the test and I've got the results below.

Fast Idle test

Engine speed 2765
CO  0.00%
HC  23 ppm vol
lambda 1.009

Natural Idle test
Engine speed 822 Rpm
CO 0.00%

Although figures are within the respective ranges  and passed the test my only concern is the CO figure which reads 0.00% for both the natural and fast idle tests. The CO shd be less than  .20% for the fast idle test and less than .30% for the natural idle test. Because i've got 0.00% for these two tests I wondered if the figure might be too low. Of course this might not be a problem but i have no knowledge of this.

Does anyone have the CO figures for their emission/MOT results or could anyone confirm that the CO readings are Ok

Thanks

Raptor

Thats fine.
Just because the results read 0% it doesn't mean engine isn't chucking out anything, it just means the cat is doing its job properly.
