I always get a haynes manual for whatever car I get. I'm not brilliant mechanically so it helps me a lot.

£10 seems a good price.

As above.

There was a link to a free one in the MK4 section, but I've just tried it. No longer works.

Sell the Mk4 and get a Mk2.  We have an Online Haynes PDF in our section.

The money I save from having a diesel is enough to pay for it and buy some penny sweets

What i found with the haynes manual is that if it says "ease out or pull off" It really means hit it with a massive hammer!

Whilst I would rather have one than not I have found mine to be more of a reference than a guide as a lot of the time the description is based on a differet engine. I have found this site to he much more useful tbh.

That was what I was worried about. Get the feeling it's very brief information

Wish they did one for mine.

Have a Bentley manual on disc, but its a pain trying to find things on it. Hard copy would be awsome, but it would take quite a long time to print out the 1080 or so pages!
