I was listening to a Radio Wales phone yesterday on call centres  and some tech genius said that saying the word "adviser" get you through immediately to someone.

The upgrade is old news - have you not seen the adverts?  If you are a new customer you still get an upgrade.

They do throttle speeds Chuff but only the ports which are used for file sharing (http://help.virginmedia.com/system/selfservice.controller?CMD=VIEW_ARTICLE&ARTICLE_ID=389387&CURRENT_CMD=SEARCH&CONFIGURATION=1029&PARTITION_ID=1&USERTYPE=1&LANGUAGE=en&COUNTY=us&VM_CUSTOMER_TYPE=Cable) you won't notice the throttling as you don't use these ports

I think I have found the problem......

Yes that is correct, if in the evening you watch a couple of episodes of Top Gear or a film through netflix virgin will reduce your download speed by 75%+ for 5 hours!!!

Gonna have a word with my landlord about switching to BT
