Tempting, unfortunately it needs towbar and don't think anyone will have that on GTi? i could be wrong...

No you can get a towbar for the GTI :) it was previously fitted to a gti.

Mine is on the VW approved website, complete with tow ball.  Gives a bit of bumper protection when in supermarket car parks.
