Title: Testing the water for North West wheel refurb service
Post by: Joeturnerrfx on 15 April 2012, 19:37
hi

im sorry if ive put this in the wrong place , so mods please let me know if i have ,

i am looking at starting up a wheel refurb service , i would remove your tyres , acid dip or blast your alloys , powdercoat the wheels in your desired colour and then re fit your tyres and balance up . i would be looking to charge 200 a set which is 50 a wheel , considering it would cost you a tenner to get a tyre taken off and put back on i dont think thats bad ? im looking for oppinions from you guys before i go ahead and start up , i am a real car enthusuast particulary into the vw scene , ive had mk2 golf , mk4 golf and a mk5 golf , a bora and lupo sport and took great care and pride in them all . below are some pictures of some wheels ive done .

that is a very good price for powder coating, strip and refit.

only know of a few places in the area who do this sort of work all charging slightly more to ridiculously more. I'd be interested in the future if you did setup

From the pics they look pretty good. Red ones aren't my cuppa tea though.

I'm no expert, but think £50 a corner all in sounds pretty reasonable.

Competitive pricing, wheels look v.nice. How about light kerbing and general scuffs etc?
I wish someone in Mid Wales/Shropshire offered this service

Light kurb marks and scuffs are normaly covered up no problems atall . And unfortunately I don't have the facility's to do wheel repairs yet , although there is a place a few miles away that can do wheel repairs , and then I could paint the wheels all the same to match once your wheel had been repaired .
