Never owned a mk4 before but im off to look at a gt tdi 130 tomorrow.
The seller seems a decent bloke but ive just put the reg num into a website and its saying the car is a 110bhp model!
Is it likely the he has been sold it as a 130 or do the websites get it wrong sometimes, he has owned the car for 3 years or so.
Will there be any info on the documents regarding the exact model.
Apart from this issue are there any common things/problems to look out for when potentially buying a gttdi, apart from good service history.
Thanks

Many thanks, ill check that out tomorrow, having never drove a tdi before can you feel the 20bhp difference between the two or is it not that noticable.
-
tbh you can feel the difference in the two as there is no top end on the 110 it gets to 70mph in 3 weeks and just stays there  but if you aint drove either you wouldnt really tell mate 130 is definately what you want though good luck dude

it was a 130 model in the end. The cambelt was done at 69,000 and the mileage is now 139,000. How much is a cambelt these days and someone mentioned doing the tensioner and water pump at the same time? Dont fancy paying decent money and then shelling out for this work.

dont know what amount of miles on a derv they should be changed but sounds overdue to me prices can vary mate but id get it done asap

4 years/40,000 miles isn't it?
Crucial it's done on time!

Timing belt, tensioner and water pump fitted all in is about £300. See if you can negotiate that off price
