I'm getting a bit fed up with all these "my new edition 35" threads!
Only because it makes me want one.

Really? You'd buy a ED35 from a GTI? I'd never buy an ED35 after having a GTI, the next logical step-up for me is the R.

The R is just a bit more pricy than the 35 Jim decent spec 36k

I have had an R and sold it a year ago and went diesel and don't like it. The R was great but I have had one and fancied something to tide me over to the MK7 comes out, the 35 should do this just fine as there are loads of GTI's around, I was offered one but fancied the 35.

I'm not criticising anyone getting an ED35 - I'd get one if I didn't have a GTI, Im just saying I wouldn't go from a GTI to an ED35.

Being totally honest i just couldn't afford/justify spending the money on an R no matter how much i'd love one which i would! I wouldn't buy a used one either, i drove my friends brand new Polo GTI on thursday and was very impressed with the DSG box and will definately consider it in my next car, mines in for service next week so might have a chat with my dealer. :smug:
