Hey guys, had a discussion with a mate from about the most common mark of golf, he seems to think the mk3 is more common thank a mk4, how ever I said vice versa, so thought I would just pop the question up here, see what the results show!
Done it so you can vote for multiple options in case you are incredibly lucky and own more than one golf!
-
I voted MK5 but round my parts it's very close with the MK5 & MK6's but 5 just pips I think....
-
I have a mK3 but reckon the Mk4 is more common. See them everywhere these days. Don't see so many Mk3's where I live.
-
Mk 4's are everywhere where i live......... thats why im after a mk3
-
Mk4 without doubt.
-
Mk4 without doubt.
+1. I'd say mk4 by a country mile!
-
Mk4 without doubt.
Mk4 golf tdi in reflex silver with black alloys. Fact.
-
I see a lot more mk4's against the rest tbh.
-
Where I live there are more mk2's than mk4's and there are a hell of a lot more mk3's than mk2's.
-
I see mk4 everywhere!
Mk3's are rusting and ain't many diesel out there.
Has to be mk4
-
I see a lot of tidy mk3 and a few mk2 and a lot of very scruffy mk4 ..
-
I drive every dar, lotsof mk4's on the m25, m1, m4. Rarely a mk2, mk5. Never seen a mk1 yet.
Travel 150miles per day. Mk3 holding up.
-
well, if i look on my drive i see a mk4 and a mk5..its a close call round here but i would say mk5....though there is a lovely mk2 in black always parked in our local tesco...im in love with it to the point i may have to tap the owner up
-
mk4's everywhere round here
-
Its cos Mk4's are so big you think you are seeing two
-
loads of MK4s around here, very common
parked up in a small residential street today and counted five including mine
-
loads of mk4's around me, not many mk3's

MK3's are an old car in everyones eyes.
In all my mates etc the MK4 is still modern enough to be cool.

mk4 golfs are not cool! They are mostly driven (badly I might add) by old people, the only cool golfs are mk1's and mk2's, I like the mk3, but I don't think they are cool, I hate mk4 because the ones I've known were very unreliable.

The only unreliable MK4's are ones that have been owned by people who don't look after them. I have had our MK4 since it was 2 years old it's now 9 years old, never broken down or been on the back of a tow truck & now has around 135k on the clock. I have the Mk 3 Rocco now but the mrs is still doing loads of miles in the Golf with no issues.
MK1 & 2's are just to old now, i had 3 mk1's & a mk2 so did love them but wouldn't fancy owning one anymore, to much hassle.
( never was tempted by a mk3 golf )

i think you tend to notice the car that you drive. i would say mk2's rule in lincolnshire but only because i notice them. i could take you to loads of houses with mk2's in residence but only know of a handfull of 4,5 and 6's. but hten i really dont keep an eye out for the newer ones
-
mk4's every-bloody-where in my parts, sod all mk1 or mk2's and only a handful of mk3's...and even then not all GTI's.
