Title: Bolt snapped off in wheel hub
Post by: tigerj360 on 12 April 2012, 16:01
Was getting my bushes replaced last week when the mechanic noticed one of the wheel bolt covers had been super glued on to hide something.

From what i can see someone has tried to take off the locking wheel nut and failed miserably

They have snaped the top of the bolt off leaving the threaded section stuck in the hub! Is there an easy way of getting the section out of the hub or am i going to need a replacement?

Cheers

Jon

Only way i can see is welding a bolt on and seeing if you canget it to hold while you unscrew it. if that fails the only other way i can see is drilling it out

What you need is a set of "easy outs" or stud removel set only a few quid just get a decent make though, centre punch the stud, small drill to start then drill a bit bigger until it will take the easy out,as it works in the stud it will remove it,give it a good belt first though to help loosen it. Good luck Chambo

also could use a great big f**k off hex key (the ones that can go on breaker bars)
