Right after reading various threads on this topic I am down to the following options.
I drive a mk2 golf 16v.
Eibach springs with Koni shocks
or
Eibach springs with boge gas
At the minute I have crashy cheapo coilovers. So any of the above will be better. My question is, will any of the above sit lower than the other and what are your opinions on them. Also , where is the best place to purchase???
Thanks very much
Im ready to buy so just want some final thoughts and advice.

Which Eibach spring have you gone for - I've just bought some -20 / -30mm (i think they call the the pro kit) ones and Boge Gas shocks.
The rear ones are fitted but the front still has the old set up as I ran out of time at the weekend.
I bought the Eibachs from them direct and the Boge's from GSF and they let me have them at trade price!!

I havnt just bought them yet, looking final advice on them. The lower the better, but no more than 50mm low. I think Eibach pro line are 20mm lower for 16v making it 40mm lower than standard as its already lower than 8v and other models. Have you any pictures???

Both are good choices, all depends on budget but Koni's are excellent.

As Wayne says both are good. Have you considered Bilsteins?

I was asking for prices in various places and bilsteins have been recommended. aahhhh! Also kw v1's
My question is, which is more comfy, kw coilovers or bilsteins b12 and eibach springs. I only lower 40 / 50 max

This would be the better choice.

konis are very comfy and handle superbly as youd expect for what your paying. i had boge shocks with std springs on mine before swapping to coilovers and they were fine.

KW are the best, but you pay for it!
If budgets are tight then non stainless steel items such as Weitech's same manufactures as KW's, its just not stainless but spray wax/WD40 on them every six months and they should be solid!

No more coilovers...
Its now between Bilstien B12 kit (eibach springs)
or
Koni shocks with eibach springs.
What are the differences between these two setups??

I'm running Eibach springs with OEM G60 shocks (NLA) - big surprise there...
I had Boge Turbo's and they lasted about 3 months and leaked so were taken off - so a good choice not to fit them IME.
I have been told that Bilstein were an OEM supplier so that would be a good option - if it's true...
Koni seem to be well respected by lots of people but they seem to come at a price... I can't comment on them from experience as the only car I've driven with them on - I only drove for 5 miles and then scrapped it...
I would also consider that it's not just down to the springs and shocks you also have to look at the Tyre option and whether you are going or uprated ARB's which in my experience also have a bearing on the handling, I have these fitted too...
I think you have to look at the "Whole Package" not just one or 2 selected items...
This is worth reading too; http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=227493.0

I'm going to go for Apex springs with Boge turbos (now Sachs?!) Have heard good things about Apex stuff - and they are much cheaper than Eibach springs! Probably ordering next week, so will let you chaps know what they're like. (I think that the bilstein streetline kit uses apex springs?)
