Its about 45quid i belief but you will need to trim it to fit a uk mk4 bumper. Or buy a US front bumper.
-
Trip it? Tried that part number didn't work mate?
-
Think he meant trim it

if your on about it didnt work in etka its not in the usual place of etka i cant remember were it is ill try find it though, remember quite a few people wanting them and the dealers not being able to find them on etka.
and yeah he ment trim, us spec bumper is bigger due to there laws over there so you will need to cut it down.

Ooops yeah I ment Trim.
You could always plastic weld part of a US Rubstrip into the gap on your and respray it. Thats how i did mine.
-
ive got one of the US rub strips, i got it when i swapped my car will upload some pics.
-
In what way do you have to trim the rub strip? Does it still look like it's meant to be there or do you have to modify it massively?
I really like the look of it and if its only 45 sheets...But I'm guessing you'd be lucky to get it in the colour you want right? :undecided:

Stolen from ED38
U.S. Front rub strip part number 1j0807719hgru
U.S. Front main bumper part number 1j0807217dgru
U.S. Front spoiler diffuser to fit the uk version part number 1j0805903ab41
U.S. Front amber indicators/corner markers for side molding part number 1jm945071 n/s 1jm945072 o/s
also the wiring loom for the indicators/corner markers 8d0971273 x2 of them
Ive just bought the side markers and my painter is cutting my rub strip to fit them in he is also wiring them up for me should have been done last week but he was to busy hopefully in this week but I will take some photos how he does it as its a far cheaper way instead of buying new bumpers etc.

ware abouts did you buy them from, struggling to get a match on those part numbers

Where are you looking?
I've just checked with a mate who works for VW and that part number for the rubstrip is correct.

The US bumper is deeper than ours, you have to cut a small section out & plastic weld it back together.
It won't come painted, you'll have to do that yourself.
-
I use a company called TPS they sell all genuine vw parts but cheaper all those part numbers worked fine.
-
I'll give them ago later then cheers

So do you have to have the US style indicators as well? So potentially you may have 2 sets of indicators right?

Imo, if your fitting them in the bumper then you need to smooth your wings, seems a little pointless having both...

So it would be either smooth the current indicators out on the wings, or smooth out the indicators on the US rub strips. Gotcha!
I well want to do this eventually!! Cheers for the info peeps!
-
so all us rub strips come with cut outs for the indicaters?
-
Yes all us rubstrips have indicator holes

It's worth noting that if you don't want the indicators in the rub strip then there is no point in buying a US one, just smooth your standard one....
-
Yea going to have to do a DIY one will cost to much get wings smoothed over
-
so it looks like you wont be having this one off me then rench?
-
Just to let you know there not indicators there side markers. there constantly lit up when you have your side lights on
search whiteroller on youtube and it will come up with a us mk4 note how it has side repeaters in the wings still. the side markers in the bumpers couls proberbly be modded into indicators but they are just lights as std
-
sorted a us rub strip now with markers, googled them and they look ok with side indercators so hopefully have it fitted beofe end off next week
