i got some side skirts for my golf... but told i need some sill protectors? can anyone confirm plz?

ah right ok, yeah they are standard mk3 skirts. Basically what he means is that you require the upper clip on top sections for either side. These commonly rot away as they have a thin layer of metal inside them and usually fall to pieces once removed.
You can still buy them from the main dealer but they are approximately £25 or so each side. You'll also require the end caps as well but these are plastic so buying second shouldn't be an issue.

£34 a side now from VW  :cry:

From new they had a decal that was fitted to stop the skirt rubbing the paint away, not sure if he means those, item no 20, 1H4853805 protect. foil for side member / left, 1H4853806 protect. foil for side member / right

£34 a side  :shocked: I got a set june last year for only £26 a side, the robbing bastards!

common problem, the metal strip inside corrodes.

Eurocar parts is your answer!  £25 + VAT

enquired only the other day

forget the part number though seen it on this site somewhere lol   :grin:

with vat that would be £30, worth the exra £4 for genuine imo  :smiley:
