Title: Rear Washer Jet
Post by: Lankylad78 on 08 April 2012, 12:11
Hi Guys,

I know that this topic has been covered numerous times, but I can't find anything specific to my little prob.

Trying to adjust the nozzle this morning and I either spray the windscreen (and my face!), or it just seems to spray into the nut cover and dribble down the boot.

I can't see any obvious signs of leaks, and since I'm getting enough pressure to send it to the front I don't think that this is the problem.

Am I being a complete numpty and missing something really straightforward? I've been wiggling a pin this way and that for the last half hour and all I've managed to acheive is a clean windscreen, boot and face!

Any idea's anyone?

i bought a second hand washer motor from an arsehole in classifieds on here and the tube that is connected to the washer jet snaps inside and the jet just spins about and moves when the arm moves so doesn't spray properly all the time, could be the problem, there are repair kits out there but i only found kits for valeo and i had a bosch wiper motor

Thanks for the reply Jock.

That's the problem. The jet isn't moving with the arm. I just can't seem to find a happy medium. It's either all over the roof, or all over the tailgate.

I'm thinking maybe trim a bit away from the nut cover to allow a better angle for the jet.

if the jet ain't moving with the arm it's knackered, you're best off getting a new motor(secondhand) or de-wipering as it will leak inside the boot and rust your boot handle from the inside,it's a really thin copper pipe running through the middle of the motor rusts and breaks

I'm having a problem where fluid is spurting out from 2 small holes in the black plastic inlet that sits on the motor itself, that goes thru the unit and is suppose to spray the window. So it's just filling my boot lid up.

Anybody??

no, if the jet moves with the arm then its f**ked, and you need to stop using it before you screw up your boot lock!

personally i would just pull the wire at the tank and not bother with it, you wouldnt miss it. or take the wiper off completely, looks much better

I've also pulled the jet out of the top and although the washer fluid now spurts out of there it still pours out of the holes on the inlet at the back of the motor!!!!
