Post by: Dolly on 07 April 2012, 21:46
Well this is my fourth mk2, always regretting selling the others so had abit of a heart over head moment and brought this.

Already sorted the slack gear change and the clutch pedal, mechanically very good only an oil leak to fix, body is solid as in sills ect, but the general condition of the body is... well its 27 years worth of car park dings

was forsale on this forum last week, sold my sensible old Man BMW on the saturday and brought this on the Sunday. Never owned a car older than me before

Got to get to grips with this K jet malarky, pulls well after 2.5k but doesnt seem to like driving slowly

sometimes struggles to start and when it does it misfires for a few seconds, guessing its a fueling issue. its all good fun

o and i aint doing anything stupid to this like putting a G60 into it, standard all the way, although i feel the original shocks are a little worn which is kind of ruining the spirited driving down lanes side of it.  :undecided:

Was abit bored at work so starting tating

However my front bumper has some war wounds so i might be getting another one the weekend and i took the back off just to see whats there

Ive ordered rear callipers and a sump gasket as i think its what is causing the oil leak.

If anyone knows of an earlier quad headlamp grill please let me know :)

Well today i went 12 rounds with the rear beam bushes, well only got one out it put up some resistance

its actually a second beam i picked up, going to clean it up, new bushes and then swop it into mine, all shiney.

anyone recommend any paint or way of attacking it, so far im wiring brushing and emery clothing, then i was going to go to halfords and get some black hammerite , but im open to suggestions if theres a better way for very little £££

One of these on the end of an Angle Grinder would make things a lot easier and you will get a hell of a lot more crud off.
