Title: Custom LCD
Post by: Maltloaf on 31 May 2005, 20:54
Hi all,

Just toying with an idea. Would it be possible to program something like this LCD Display (http://www.watercoolingshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=413) to display information about the engine, oil pressure, oil temp, etc? This website (http://www.watercoolingshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=413) link to some software that looks like it can run the LCD controller, but I guess a computer will need to be running to power and control the LCD?
Other than spending £1000s can anyone else think of a way of having this information on an LCD screen in the car?

Cheers

Matt B.

This is for the Mk1. A hide-away LCD panel. So the car looks orignal but I still have access to the engine info if I need it.

I would like to see some pics, if you get a chance. I have looked in to it a bit more and found a complete package that supplies the LCD and driver which can simply be programmed. It is called ezLCD-001. But they only have a 2.7" display at the moment
