Title: Headlight wiring loom
Post by: richie2480 on 05 April 2012, 23:24
Got myself one of those headlight wiring looms and had it fitted today. Boy what a difference that has made. I can actually see what I am going to crash into now on a night time

Anything is better than driving by candle light....

Interesting point though - My M8 (yes I have more than one) owns a Laguna and my 21 year old Mk2 golf lights are better than his!!!!

Not all cars need them...

Check your voltage at the bulb and if it's only 9 or 10 Volts then yes buy one...

If it's 10 or over then it's fine - but fit one if you want one!!

Shouldn't have this problem as most I've seen and bought have a direct earth to the battery...

It looked like a cheap ebay one and was on when I bought the car. I repaired it where it had rubbed on the top of the fan, and had to re crimp new spades on too. In the end I just thought bugger it and ripped it out. Put the Nightbreakers on and couldn't tell the difference from before with the loom.

I rewired mine yesterday, was getting 10.1v at the bulbs so thought I may as well as It was all free.
I had a few 12v relays knocking around, a fully insulated fuse holder and the neccessary wiring.

I got 13v at the bulb holder. I still don't rate the brightness of the bulbs lol.
