whats the best type of chip to use on my 2001 1.8t gti and what type of gains can i expect

you dont state which version you have 150/180bhp version but basically its not a chip you put it, the engine management is remapped via a pc being connected to it the gains are pretty good on ive seen 208bhp from a 150ps owned  its a big differnce not to sure on a 180ps model but probably about 200-210 from a remap.

sorry its a 150bhp model, ive had a quick look at the superchip website and they say 180bhp

used to depend on the model and type etc but i know Revo is the one for 200bhp from a 150bhp post in the mk4 section might be more helpful as there are a few that have had there cars mapped and can explain it more.

revo will do you 210bhp (+/- 10%) from a k03(s) based engine (150/180)
other companies can give you about the same increase too. Jabba, Stealth, etc.
Jabba can give you a bespoke map which will take into account a better air filter and exhaust package where as revo is a standard code for every engine.
you'll looking at about £500 for a remap.

anyone done this and is it worth it
