Morning all,
I think the time has come where I'll have to sell my Bora and upgrade to something newer and more reliable.
Before I make any mad decisions I want to get a good idea of what's out there in terms of upgrade.
I've got a soft spot for the Mk5 GTI however the ED30 or Leon Cupra's have also caught my eye and will have the K04 goodies present. The Bora is currently 280bhp so I don't think I could put up with a reduction in power for long.
Is there anything I should be aware of as I know all VAG's have their known issues?

No-one helped this chap out? Poor show.. I will begin:
Have a good look through the Mk5 maintenance section and this forum - will take you some time but is priceless  Keep your eyes out for corrosion under the arches/around the boot release flap, also a lot of TFSI engines known for oil consumption - generally accepted as "normal" for this engine but it still bothers me this day and age. Also a lot of imports of this model came into the country - not saying they are a bad but it's worth remembering you should be able to pick up an equivalent import cheaper. Just make sure they have 8 speakers and weren't stood in a field for a year before being registered in this country
Cupra is a cracking car but severely let down by its interior, IMO
BTW.. I've just spent a very good hour reading your Project Bora S3 thread.. sorry to see you're calling it a day :(

If you want 3 doors and need the speed for town driving buy an S3.
5 doors an ed30 if you like wheelspin or live out of a town.
